I only have read the FIRST COUPLE OF PARAGRAPHS of the BOOKs FORWARD, written by retired US Army General Tommy Franks, who was the supreme commander over Iraq and Afgan, in the very initial invasions, as THIS IS WHAT he concisely phrased: ...`In War, you do no MANAGE soldiers up a hill under fire. You LEAD them. Although the stakes are much higher in war, than in any other leadership arena, the challenges a general experiences on the battlefield are essentially the same as a coach faces on the football field, or on a basketball court, or a CEO in the competitive marketplace. ...You must have a strategic vision, and you must communicate that to your people, (under your charge.) ...You must inspire and motivate the troops, display exemplary character; and rock-solid competence under fire, and be tactically aggressive. ...And you must love your troops.. ...Pat Williams has spent a lifetime studying and applying the above principles of leadership in the sports world.
