WHOOP!WHOOP!! (yes I am bragging) Thank you Erin Dolin for the amazing review. Review of Addison’s Release by Leia Madison Oh, how I love the characters in this book! We meet them all in Ms. Madison’s first book, but we really get to see full on personalities emerge in this amazing follow up. Addison Baxter really comes into her own in Addison’s Release. (Perfect name, by the way.) We saw her world fall apart around her ears in Autum’s Lost, but we see her take all of that devastation and bleakness and use it to build a strong, determined, and ultimately kind-hearted Addison 2.0. Watching her family, friends, and the oh-so-lickable Michael Crestmoore support and lift her up, is truly a wonderful thing to witness. Addy is dealing with entirely too many horrible situations. Grieving the loss of a child is a pain nobody should endure, but along with that she also experiences the demise of a less than ideal marriage. Discovering what a king-size douche her husband has been throughout the marriage, and just how low he has fallen into a cesspool of depravity, is nauseating. And now that she has found the love of her life in Michael and they begin to plan a life together, rat-bastard Curt decides he wants to destroy her and that happiness at all costs. Without spoiling what happens, let’s just say watching what unfolds is sad and scary, but it is a culmination of a person’s bad decisions and ultimate payback. Even though Addy must face all of these challenges at once, thankfully she has her family, her BFF Jess, and Michael boosting her up and supporting her in only the way those closest to you can during crisis. In between the deep love and affection they give her is sarcastic, biting, and freaking hilarious banter that makes me laugh out loud. Laughter truly is the best medicine, and they have it in abundance. And witnessing Addy really become her best self, and learning to love a great man after Curt, is fantastic. Every woman should have a Michael in her life. *swoon* I hope we get another book to see how things wrap up with this group of friends. It is implied, but I want to read more, darn it! I give this 5/5 stars.
