WHY ARE WE THE BEST (the absolute best) CHOICE FOR YOUR AUTOMOTIVE - TopicsExpress

WHY ARE WE THE BEST (the absolute best) CHOICE FOR YOUR AUTOMOTIVE NEEDS?!? This is a fat claim, but we back it up day in and day out! Being the BEST means using the BEST labor (most highly qualified technician), it means using the BEST parts (highest quality available for your vehicle), and it means being the BEST price out there...thus the BEST value! Add to this equation complimentary pick up/drop off if needed, and to further elevate our service experience we also offer a complete photo shoot and matching explanation so you fully understand what is going on with your vehicle. Dont take our word for the above, just ask my client here below and on Facebook what she thought of the experience... Last Thursday July 3rd Shelley Hathaway Largay of Bangor was in OOB when her 07 BMW 328xi sedan wouldnt start. She called the local BMW dealer who couldnt get her in until the following Thursday (one week, ugh!). No running car, it needed to be towed, she couldnt get the car in, and she was stuck! Thankfully Shelley thought of me on the fly and with 14 brand specific technicians on hand I got involved and took care of everything; I had her car towed to our private BMW shop (at no charge to her, saving her $100-$150) where my Master Certified BMW technician (one of the few in the entire State of Maine) works on all of our BMWs. We dug into her car that evening and by the next day gave her a complete run-down of the vehicle with photos sent to her through Facebook IM with explanations of what was going on. Also, after perusing through the recent invoices from where Shelley had been taking her car (in Old Town) we quickly pointed out the shotty work from the previous mechanic. Some people just shouldnt be working on cars, especially cars they are not trained on!!!! The mechanic she had been using was a generic one and not only had he done previous sloppy work (lots of missing bolts and hardware, incorrect hoses/clamps used, and oil leaks from months prior to when he had looked at it just a week or two prior) but he had failed to mention to Shelley numerous things needing attention and did one repair that didnt make sense to us. *explanation of the 20 photos in the photo shoot attached Photo 1: BMW logo Photo 2: where your BMW gets worked on Photo 3: all of the OE BMW parts laid out Photo 4: old starter/starter repair Photo 5: oil leak coming from the oil filter housing gasket Photo 6-9: oil leak coming from the valve cover gasket Photo 10: right rear running light bulb out Photo 11: left rear shock leaking Photo 12-17: progression of the full repair Photo 18: engine bay after post repair clean up Photo 19&20: car after being fully detailed Repair #1: We diod the engine for a no start checking the fault with a scan tool and found fault for starter, recharged the battery overnight, and replaced the starter. To replace the starter the whole intake needed to come out and to do it right the job calls for not only a new starter but also a set of alum starter screws and a set of profile gaskets (as shown in Photo 3). Photo 4 shows the old starter per the starter repair. Repair #2: We noticed the excessive oil leak coming from the oil filter housing gasket which is a very common repair on this car. The previous technician from a week prior showed on his invoice that he had addressed this but all he did was replace the filter which is pointless because the leak comes from the gasket. This repair calls for a gasket and a can of brake clean (as shown in Photo 3). This was a severe leak which is all taken care of! Photo 5 shows the leak coming from the gasket. Repair #3: We also noted an excessive oil leak due to the valve cover gasket leaking and because its leaking onto the exhaust it means the car wont safely pass inspection. This was also a severe leak her previous tech shouldve picked up and handled. To do this repair correctly a profile gasket and two other repair specific gaskets are needed (shown in Photo 3). This is a very common repair for this car at this mileage. Photos 6-9 show the evident leaking which is no longer. Repair #4: We noted the right rear running light bulb is out. Its a no-charge repair but needed one longlife bulb. Photo 10 shows the before. Repair #5: We noted the left rear shock is leaking a lot. The parts needed are a new shock absorber for the rear, an additional shock absorber rear (fancy name for bump stop with cover), lower part guide support, upper part guide support, and hex nut with flange (as shown in Photo 3). Photo 10 shows the leak. Repair #6: After repairs were completed we degreased the whole engine bay due to excessive oil leaks / post repair clean up. Steam cleaning from top and bottom of chassis is necessary to do it correctly so no old oil residue is leaking and so things are spic and span as they should be when being returned to an owner. Photo 18 shows the finished product. ---> To finish things off we did our best to replace incorrects nuts/bolts/clamps from previous shotty repairs, topped off the car with oil and coolant, and test drove it for about 10 miles in order to be sure we were giving the car back to Shelley in its best and correct running condition. ---> How do we take this experience and make it even better?? In an extensive repair situation like this and in order to heighten a customer experience, we extended Shelley a complete interior and exterior detail ($225 value at a competitor that does the quality work that we do). This meant Shelley got her car back in not only tip-top shape mechanically, but also aesthetically (the last two photos show what the car looked like when she arrived). *Total savings in Shelleys pocket book while receiving a better experience than anywhere else and with a quicker turn around? $900 and change when compared to the dealer, not including the money she saved on the complimentary tow and detail...
