WHY BECOME POLITICAL BEGGARS? MY ADVICE FOR 2015 I came - TopicsExpress

WHY BECOME POLITICAL BEGGARS? MY ADVICE FOR 2015 I came across the page of a prospective aspirant for the 2015 gubernatorial race, name withheld. The magnitude of comments there caught my interest. Could he be the peoples choice? I thought for a while. To further confirm my doubt, I went through the comment box only to be filled with pity thereafter. 2015 is by the corner and every aspiring politician is much aware of the teaming population surfing the internet, hence, carrying out their campaigns online. Lolz...the modern era is here. Lets examine this story a while; I was fortunate enough to be in a school where the aspirants for the post of the senior prefect must present a satisfactory manifesto before acceptance even after being carefully nominated. You wouldnt imagine the dreams and plans I had for my school. I had to put them down to writing. Words capable of healing the deaf and restoring the sight of the blind. All said and done, at a point, I lost interest in those dreams, then did I realise I wouldnt have been able to deliver all I said, also did it occur to me that I carried so many things along at one instance. I understand the situation of every aspiring politician, your endorsement depends on your capabilities through words. Can you make them come true if given the chance? Its the humanly nature for one to bite more than he/she can chew when aspiring for a position, little wonder, the fate of these politicians. In your administration, babies will talk from day one and rabbits will become professional city drivers, Yes! those desperate urges are somewhat natural, but what happens when that mandate is given to you? It can moreover happen you feel the seating government isnt working and the much desired change is in you. Let your heart speak better, four years of leadership is worth the care. I did a little calculation myself. In a tenure lasting for about eight years, how long can the little earnings I make during campaigns and elections sustain me? What if who I allegedly voted for wasnt a man of his words, what happens to me and the rest of my people for the remaining years? I remember a certain group of school students who were given one thousand naira each to vote, wow!!! You sold your vote. One thousand naira will probably do you a whole lot of good for eight years. The money played a major role, depriving one from seeing the one who would have made available employment after graduation. Hitherto, people seeking campaign groups as means of break through. Lets hope the fun lasts long. Come to think of it, who are those actively involved in election processes? The students, unemployed, street mongers and non-professionals, others relax at home awaiting results. Thereafter, do these people get annual allowances? Jobs or even better jobs? Yet I thought for a while, you can do something better, struggling to live your dreams other than being dependent and liking the pages of every politician that surfaces, only to make comments to be noticed or seek favour (Get better tips on independency on my post BE INDEPENDENT posted on my timeline last month). Be the best for yourself and the society. Look through the heart of these aspiring desperate candidates and not their lips. Do not get carried away by their national motto, I WILL.... Lets be GUIDED and WATCHFUL...the fate of your society is worth the attention than silver nor gold. Just airing my views.... GOOD LUCK!!!
