WHY DON’T YOU GET A REAL JOB? Wouldn’t you agree that this - TopicsExpress

WHY DON’T YOU GET A REAL JOB? Wouldn’t you agree that this has to be one of the most infuriating things you can ever hear as a business owner and entrepreneur? Seriously - it can literally have the potential to screw up your whole day, week, or even month if you let it. But you’re NOT going to let it, are you? The thing with this is, the people who say this to you are usually the people closest to you: your parents, your best friend, your partner, etc. They’re not saying it to be nasty, condescending, or anything like that - it’s just that they simply don’t get it. Despite what it looks like on social media, the desire to be an entrepreneur or business owner is still pretty rare - and what’s even more rare is the actual amount of people going out there and living this way. It’s not for everyone - and at times it will seem like it’s literally the end of the world or the worst decision you’ve ever made. So, can you really blame them for not understanding your desire to live this life the way you’re living it? Of course not. Even if they’re the types who sit and talk about having a business and how great it would be (yes, there’s loads of those around), you know for a fact that they’re just never going to actually take the necessary steps to go out and do it. For them it’s a lovely idea - but that’s all it is: an idea! They can role play in their head, because doing that allows them to have a little taste of the excitement and freedom that comes with being an entrepreneur, but they are still physically within their comfort zone of their reliable job with the benefits and steady pay-check each month. Even as entrepreneurs it’s so easy to feel like what we’re doing isn’t a “real job”; I can’t tell you how many times I’ve felt like the biggest fraud alive, and believe me, when those closest to me start fuelling that doubt by saying things like “and people actually pay you for that?” in a tone that is one of pure shock and disbelief, then, of course, it’s easy to start feeling that way. But this is what we all need to remember: no matter what other people think of what you’re doing or if they just simply don’t understand what you’re doing - you understand it, and your clients understand it, and other entrepreneurs understand it. I understand it. I understand the need not to have to be told when I have to work, where I have to work, and when I am permitted to take a vacation. But it goes deeper than just “being a rebel” who doesn’t want to be dictated to by others. It comes down to one simple thing: you were brought to this world and placed within this very small percentage of society who has something special to share - and you actually know it, which is why you never felt satisfied with any job you’ve had. That’s someone else’s message - not yours. And your message is real; therefore, you have the ability to create something from this message that other people need - and that’s real to them, too. When you work with your clients and you see the gratitude that comes from that work - from your message, then you realize that what you’re doing is as real as it gets. You already have a real job - your job is to be you. So, get out there and start doing it. Are you still not as clear as you’d like to be on what your message is and how you can really help people? Book a free 30 minute Clarity Session with me and let’s talk it out. I know you have something special to share, so let’s uncover it together.
