WHY HAS THE PRESIDENT WAITED UNTIL NOW, OR IS IT ANOTHER ELECTION GIMMICK? President Goodluck Jonathan who has not created enabling environment that is employment-friendly is now promising to create 2 million jobs annually, if reelected.. Why now and how is he going to do that in a country where production of goods and services have been shipped elsewhere because of lack of power supplies? Why is the generation and supply of electricity such a complex or impossible task that he cannot fulfil for six years, despite his earlier promise to get bthis done within four years. A lot of Third World neighboring countries with less human and material resources than Nigeria have managed through management of their own limited resources and by their dint of hard work , to provide their people , with constant flow of electricity. Examples of such include the land-locked countries of Mali and Niger Republics as well as Ghana. Why should Nigeria, the oil-rich giant of Africa be unable to meet such a basic demand of her own people?. Could the creation of 2million jobs be another unfulfilled promise and mere election gimmick?
