WHY IT IS A MEMORIAL HOLIDAY THAT HAS HAPPY IN IT I want to thank everyone and their families who have fought for the freedom and fought to protect the freedoms of America and her people. Born to and raised by a family who survived the World War 2 by fighting the oppressors for freedom and truth, I humbly partake in the joys of what it means to live a life of grace. Grace from the past of what my countrymen and my own family did serving justice and liberty for their children and unborn children... Just as the blood of my own family shed the earth from protecting our countrys liberty and freedom from slavery, I humbly thank all who have sacrificed their lives not just for their own country but for the commitment of sticking it through that freedom is won. There is no country or creed separating what it takes, what it means, what it consist of and what must be done to protect liberty, justice and freedom. Thank you Veterans that Ive met, I havent met or will never meet....Thank you. And Thank You to my Grandfather Diosdado R. Capapas and his wife our grandmother Isidora Y. Capapas who were both on foot and laid their lives on the line during World War II - fought and committed for a freedom for us all. And specially to Lolo Doming who was captured and killed in the Death March yet he stood along with the Americans as a proud Filipino. Though drenched in gasoline and blazed in flames, they marched on to the death; standing, knowing theyd win the fight. And to our Uncle Junior Panilagao who went away for their Navy Seal Special Units training in the amazon where they completely were out of contact fro a year or more.....he too knows what our freedom now had cost him....and to my US father who have adopted me into their family Papa Lowell Hubert Special Intelligence Air force and fighter in the bloody war in Vietnam....Thank you so much. Thank you for the families who raised peace fighters and thank you for their spouses and children who stood by them dedicated and supportive. Post traumatic war syndrome is for all of us to carry because that is the price our heroes and heroines had to bite just so we, the new generation can live a life of justice and liberty. Special ones for me to mention.....Uncle Romy Philippines Navy who served all the way, and to my first cousin BRAVE HEROINE and Mother, Dorris Eden Edensapple Capapas, who knows what its like to lovingly hold a child, utilize kitchen cookewares, and use an M-16 and a caliber handgun as a police force agent if it means it is time to do so to protect your country. A Memorial Holiday is to pause and to give thanks to those who passed, and to those who are still doing the same: Fighting and Serving for Us All so we can enjoy the Freedoms, Liberties and Justice. Happy Memorial Day Fannie Diaz Hubert Elmer Capapas Airis Capapas Jah Seno Rodriguez for Uncle Junior.
