WHY NIGERIA MUST BE RESTRUCTURED. Dipo Famakinwa says: The federal government that has no land, no sea, no oil, that produces nothing, takes all the resources of the country and shares what it feels like among the owners of the resources. Corruption galore. The federal government that has no territory and no indigenous population wants to sit in Abuja and police my village in Iperindo where he knows no one, has no filial relationship or peculiar affinities. Of course, crime galore. Absurdly, the federal government says I cannot as States composed within a Region, build my own railways and so I am subjected to its magnanimity. That same federal government wants to sit in Abuja and control the local governments of my fathers and forefathers. What kind of federal government is this that wants to impose a one-size-fits-all education system on peoples with different development priorities? This federal government must be dismantled. Abuja must be whittled down if the peoples of this country must prosper. The Yoruba have asked for regional autonomy or they be allowed to determine their own destiny, and that seems like what Im hearing from most parts of the country. Lets settle this matter once and for all.
