WICKEDNESS OR BLACK MAIL? Police in Lower Margibi are investigating two men for allegedly being involved with dumping of deadly chemicals in wells used as sources of water for residents. Chris Flomo seventeen and Edwin Dargbae, twenty seven, according to police authorities were arrested on separate occasions by community dwellers on suspicion of attempting to contaminate wells in Kpor’s Town on the Roberts Field Monrovia High way and Harbel in Firestone. A resident of Kpor’s Town told our reporter, Suspect Dargbae was found bending over a community well in the town late on Friday but tried to escape upon an attempt to inquire his mission. He was apprehended early on Saturday and turned over to the police where he told preliminary investigators he had walked by line from Sinoe County and was among two hundred and fifty men sent out to the community to poison drinking wells. He has however refused to name any sponsor nor provide any further information but has continued to act if he is mentally ill. Chris Flomo, the suspect arrested on Saturday evening has refused also any involvement of the crime. He told our reporter in Harbel, he and two other colleagues had earlier discussed ongoing speculation that wells were being contaminated when a passerby who knew him heard and hinted investigators upon which he was arrested. The recent arrests follow wide spread speculations that wells were being poisoned amidst the wide spread of Ebola and continuous reports of huge number of deaths in Lower Margibi. This and recent reports of twenty five deaths after victims reportedly ate a food believed to be poisoned at a funeral in Dolo Town have increased fears of insecurity amongst residents. Meanwhile, the Head of the Traditional Council of Liberia Zarzar Kawor has vowed to followed investigation into the matters. The two situations according to Chief Zarzar Kawor were scaring and need thorough investigation. On the Dolo Town situation, the Head of the traditional Council says, the Pastor of the Zion Healing Holy Church of Christ Brown Kangar and those who prepared the food at the funeral must be made to answer questions. In a related development, Margibi County Former Superintendent, Levi Piah is calling for a speedily investigation into the mysterious death of his sister and at least twenty six others after eating at a funeral in Dolo Town. Mr. Piah said his sister was pronounced dead at a hospital following a very high temperature immediately after the funeral of the late Patience Moore like several others, something he believes was abnormal. He said his sister did not died from Ebola as being perceived as medical reports proved her negative of the virus, though no specific sickness was found. Meanwhile, the mother of the late Patience Moore on whose funeral the incident is believed to have occurred has spoken out for the first time since the death toll. Mardea Moore told Journalists, she has no idea as to people being poisoned during her daughter’s funeral. She admitted of not eating any of the meals noting she was weary and had not appetite for food. Madam Moore who is also the Choir Directress of the Zion Healing Holy Church of Christ has denied any relation of her daughter’s death to Ebola and noted, she was an atsmon patient and died at child birth. The death toll has continued with the latest being the daughter of Rev. Brown Kangar, the Pastor of the Zion Healing Holy Church of Christ.
