WIEPCG PRESS RELEASE – Update on Continued Weather Disruption and Power Outage Power Outages Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) engineers have been working all day to restore power to several parts of the Western Isles. Ongoing repair work will be undertaken tomorrow (Sunday) by SHEPD engineers to restore power to remaining properties. SHEPD is leading on the provision of support for vulnerable service users. They can be contacted on 0800 300 999. A rest centre has now been established at Leverburgh Care Home to provide the local community without power with the option of accessing refreshments and a warm environment until such time as power is fully restored to customers. The Comhairle and Police would ask family, neighbours and friends living nearby to assist and support elderly and vulnerable people.
