WILL SOME ONE PROOF READ THIS TO ME AND TELL ME ANT ERRORS ETC To whom it may concern, Having seeken both legal advice and voluntary advice from the animal world,I am writing to yourselfs first, before i write and email head office of reagans. This is to give you the oppertunity to respond back within a few weeks with your comments and resoutions on this mater.I would like a refund back. Firstly i am not happy at the service i received and my daughter nadia ,when bringing Bailey in to the practice on wednesday 24th july. I enclose a photcopy of the receipt i will send the original to head office. My first concern is the miss diagnosis of baileys illness , haveing two massive sores down his back and under his neck . I was told it was a bite or a sting that was incorrect.I asked several times for an antibiotic injectin for him which i was told by the vet and receptionist that no i could not have one for no reason but the gaping ouzing infected sores shown that infact he did need one for his infected sores..I was then given prices for xrays ,drips overnight hospilision etc without being told what was wrong. This seemed to me your prority over my dog.It wasnt until i pointed out the skin with the sores on could be the problem or part of why he was so ill. After an hour of speaking with the vet and receptionist and ringing my daughter who was at work, i was then told more costs ,fees etc after getting nowhere we then did agree to put him on a iv drip coming back at 6.30 as the vet (locum) and day receptioist said there are no overnight facilities at the vets. Upon picking bailey up that evening at 6.30pm we were greeted by the lovly foreign lady who informed us that bailey could indeed of stayed the night on the iv drip unsupervised.Never were we told this or given this option by the vet. We were told to take him to rspca manchester or to the off site over night vets. This i feel was kept from us by both the day reseptionist and the locum vet. The day receptionist showed her disgust when bailey was sick after drinking the water layed out in the vets.Surly these people should show compassion and understanding working with animals.I am so so annoyed about the treatment of my dog and myself. Bailey was in view of the vet for 45 mins and not once did he mention his skin clearly visible to himself. To go on about xrays and stones then foreign bodies on a dog that got a massive skin condition is beyond me .The locum never took his eyes of the computer to talk to us ,didnt seen to want to talk face to face. I would also say that 7 hours on a drip is what the other vets now tell me as being useless as 7 hours it to short of a period to rehydrate an animal .I will also tell u that after collecting bailey i was told he had inproved and was no longer being sick so they gave him to us to take home. After no improvent the day after you released bailey i took him to another vet and he immidiatly concluded bailey to have Staphylococcus ,which was diognosed in five mins from him looking at the massive gaping wounds. He also said that this was one of the worst hed seen and that left any longer could of been fatel. He proced to give antibiotcs injection also folled by a weeks worth of meds.Day after an antibiotic injection followed by the next day and the next. This treatment and consultation never came anywhere near your half a day iv drip cost. When speaking to the new vet not once did he mention xrays or prices and do you no why ...because he never needed them. Also he mentiond seven houses on an iv was absoutly useless and need ed at least 24 hours My main concern is my dog bailey and i feel like you have lost sight of why your working with animals ...it is supposed to be for the love of the job where i now feel you simply love the money. My bill was inadequately squandered ,we were miss diagnosed and not given the full options of what you werre offering to bailey.your priority was most definatly not bailey but the cost of things and as the vet said if money is the issue you can always go the rspca salford .Is that the attitude of a great vet to a over ten year customer!!! I am sending a copy of this letter to regan head office if theres no reply within two weeks, then the ombusman of the veterany world. I would like my money returned to me as you did not go about things in the correct way or part of the money as you did do a consultancy , a wrong one at that. I look forward to hearing back from you ,should i not i will take this further to the appropriate people .. N.Bailey
