WILLIAMS FUMES AFTER TWO BLUES DRAW WITH DEFENDING PREMIERS... Jason Williams and his Cabramatta Two Blues RMC team have been left pondering what went wrong after letting in a try in the dying stages to allow the defending Ron Massey Cup Premiers Wentworthville Magpies to snatch a 28 all draw in Round 8. Not rated a chance against the talent stricken Magpies, the Blues started well with the first try before a mounting penalty count and lopsided possession percentage allowed the opposition to storm back and take a commanding 6-22 lead. But Williams young chargers stuck to their guns and looked all but headed for victory in the dying stages with the score at 28-22, before the Magpies presented their ‘Get out of Jail Free’ card. An irate Williams admitted a number of dubious refereeing decisions may have had a bearing on the game, but refused to blame the referees for the draw. “At the end of that day, it was our mistakes and missed tackles that cost us,” he said. “We had them beat and allowed them to score. I thought we were the better team on the day and unlucky not to have won.” While Williams was happy with the effort of all of his players, he made special mention of backrowers Brad Croad and Adrian Haángana, who he said definitely turned the match in the home sides favour. “Adrian was outstanding today, some of the hits he pulled off would have shook the footings of the grandstand, and Croady (Brad Croad) just tackled anything that moved. Without these two guys, I am not sure we would have drawn the game,”added Jason. Adrian Haángana was awarded Man of the Match and Brad Croad Players Player, while five eighth Dave Farkas had a great defensive game, winger Brett Manning continues to impress and tireless lock Henry Taufaao was again outstanding. The two blues have the bye this weekend before returning hom on Sunday, May 25th for a local derby with the Guildford Owls. Tries - Brett Manning, Hala Katoa, Dave Farkas, Brad Croad and James Anthony. Goals – Hala Katoa 4 from 5.
