The offices we work out of are in the same building where my antiques shop is located and that may be sold to someone else unless we come up for the funds to buy it ourselves. Origiinally, we had planned to crowdfund it until one of the volunteers heard about that and spearheaded this car raffle. We think of doing it this way as another form of crowdfunding. Through social media thousands can be reached who are willing to support our cause and are willing to TAKE A CHANCE . Were askiing everyone to please buy a ticket and then share with your friends. I will keep you posted on how the raffle is going along during the next 4 weeks. For the hundreds of you who have already bought tickets- our sincere gratitude. Its been 5 years of teamwork with my dealers in the shop and myself to get the business to the point that it is thriving, but, because its almost impossible to find a comparable location with the space and charm for a similar rent we will most likely have to go out of business. Not a tragedy in the full sense of the word but as, Donna, one of the volunteers put it, We cant let a Gold Star mother lose her livelihood!. Yet its more than that - the shop has given her the freedom to travel to the many events connected to Dan, The Heroes program would also require that she have the freedom to visit schools as needed. And, of course, helping veterans in the Seacoast will be a blessing for all. OUR MISSION Were hoping to own the property and work both the shop and offices out of the old toen hall building. As for the house next door incuded in the package- we would like to see it service Seacoast veterans in some capacity. Ill be posting pictures of the shop, the house and more in the coming days.
