WINKS OF COMFORT ACROSS TIME AND SPACE “When I was a young boy my only pet was an IRISH SETTER puppy named Star. Star died suddenly. TO CONSOLE ME, my mother told me our pets are with us later on at death. Years later, Mom passed away at 90 years old. A minister arrived to comfort us. He brought his dog. An IRISH SETTER. Jeff Drew •••• To provide us comfort at times of sorrow, wouldnt it be possible that God would use memories and symbols to connect us to loved ones? While Jeff is not suggesting that the minister’s Irish Setter was his dog Star, the pleasant surprise of the man arriving at his mother’s bedside with that very breed of dog, took him back to a deeply emotional moment with his dear mother years earlier.
