WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph... July 10, 2013 THE SIGHT BARRIER MEMORY VERSE: 2 Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. The sights before us sometimes instil fear in us which in turn paralyzes us. Goliath had an intimidating presence which he used to full advantage. A nation, Israel, which was feared by other nations for the victories which had been won by their God, was crippled by the sight of just one man. The king hid away while his soldiers cowered behind their shields. What you see- the mounting bills, the cost of opening up your own business, other people’s experiences, your family background or the doctor’s diagnosis- sometimes act as barriers to keep you glued to a spot. The sons of Jacob understood that people could be manipulated or paralyzed by the sights before them. They knew that their father had a relationship with God and was therefore not to be easily deceived. Thus, they did not just announce Joseph’s death to him, they brought evidence- the blood on the coat. As soon as Jacob saw the blood, he crumpled because he had been paralyzed by the sight before him. He began mourning, like many are doing today, for something which was still alive. Many weep over situations they have perceive as hopeless because they have been blindsided by the evidences before them. Do not allow the evidences stacked against you determine the course of your life. The fact that a relationship, a business venture or an idea did not work out in the past does not make you a failure nor does it mean you will not succeed this time. You are not a failure! You need to get out there and try again and you need to do it while keeping all the good that God has ever done for you close to your heart as your evidence that if God was faithful in the past, He will again prove faithful. Stop focusing so much on the people who did not make it and focus on those who did. If God did it for them, He will do it for you! CONFESSION: I live by faith in the son of God. I have increase and favour from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet. I declare that I am lifted. No virus will survive in my body because the life of God is in me. I am unstoppable.
