WINTER STORM TIMELINE FOR TUESDAY: 4:00 AM-- Western periphery - TopicsExpress

WINTER STORM TIMELINE FOR TUESDAY: 4:00 AM-- Western periphery (including Pettis, Morgan, Camden counties) begins to see light snow. 5:00 AM-- Light snow spreads eastward. (Now including Moniteau, Cole and Miller counties.) 6:00 AM-- Light snow begins in Columbia, and continues a northeast track. (Boone, Callaway, Osage, Gasconade and Maries counties now involved.) Note: Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories officially begin at this time. 6:00 - 9:00 AM-- Light snow continues mainly south of I-70, and builds in a bit more bulk (Pettis and Cooper counties join the mix, as well as Montgomery). Accumulation begins. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM-- Potential dry slot, that could stick around for an hour or two. Might be dry in Columbia at noon. Expect mostly cloudy skies at this time. Dry slot (at current model run) looks like it moves from the southeast, in Gasconade, Maries and Osage counties to the northwest, but gets overrun with more moisture before it reaches Macon and Chariton counties at 3 PM. 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM-- This winter storm essentially throws a party in Mid-MO. Overspreading snowfall for our entire area. This will be the height of snowfall activity, with the potential to see up to an inch of snowfall per hour. 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM-- Storm stays active (the party is still hopping), but highest concentrations turn north of I-70. 10:00 PM - Midnight-- Marked change in snowfall pattern, as the snow moves out to the north. At points, areas south of I-70 may see just cloudy skies. Midnight - 4:00 AM Wednesday-- Snow trickles out of Mid-MO to the north. Light flurries linger. 6:00 AM Wednesday-- Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are set to expire. We should just be left with light flurries until mid-morning. **As always, this system CAN still change. Continue to check back with us, and please stay in tomorrow if you can. It is our job to keep you updated, and to keep you safe.** -Rosie Newberry - First Alert Weather
