WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR MONDAY FOR LONG ISLAND AND COASTAL CONNECTICUT WEST ACROSS NEW YORK CITY, MOST OF NEW JERSEY SE NY STATE AND EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA ICING ISSUE FOR MUCH OF THE AREA WITH TEMPERATURES HOVERING NEAR 32 OR LESS. PAD YOU COMMUTE BY AT LEAST 15 TO 30 MINUTES ESPECIALLY INLAND AREAS New guidance keeps temperatures close to the boderline between a wet commute and a slick commute. The issue will be how long does it take for the temperature to get above 32. Areas in Northern NJ north of rte 80 and Southeast NY State north of 287 may never break 32 on Monday. The volume of precip is not heavy but it doesnt take much to create skating rink conditions on area roads. Precipitation begins in most areas between 4 and 7am and for inland areas and even some coastal areas there could be a glaze on area roads before the commute gets going. Precipitation will be ending after the evening commute is done. So for some areas going home will be as much of a problem as going in.
