When they sight their prey they fold their wings, and drop, feet forward to snatch the fish with their talons. Osprey nests are made from sticks and driftwood and because the same nest is used year after year it can be huge. Both birds will bring sticks, but it is usually the female who places the sticks in the nest. Sadly few Ospreys now breed on the NSW coast and in NSW they are listed as vulnerable.
