Handout No.1 Peshawar 8th July 2013 Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that Corruption and Commission culture are the major hurdles in the way of foreign investment in the province, and the present provincial government is taking effective measures to remove all these hurdles to attract more and more foreign investors adding that foreign investors will be facilitated under one window operation. The present provincial government is not only encouraging the foreign investors to come in but will provide them all the required facilities and protection. He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting held at CM secretariat Peshawar on Monday to discuss matters related to investment by a private international company, the Galaxy Group in hydel power generation in the province. Besides Provincial Senior Minister for Energy & Power, Sikandar Sherpao and MNA Shehryar Afridi, Chief Executive, Galaxy Group, Mr.Edward Brigham , Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Secretary Energy and Power and other concerned authorities attended the meeting. Secretary Energy and Power Khalid Gillani briefed the participants of the meeting about the hydel power generation potential in the province and proposed hydel power projects of the provincial government. The Galaxy Group expressed its willingness to invest in the hydel power generation projects of the provincial government of upto one thousand mega watt. It was principally decided in the meeting that experts of Galaxy Group and the concerned quarters of the provincial government will sit together to settle the modalities so that a memorandum of understanding between the two parties could be formally signed and practical work could be started soon. The Chief Minister thanked the CEO of Galaxy Group for their willingness to invest in the province and assured him all the required facilities and protection by the provincial government. Handout No.2 Peshawar 8th July 2013 A delegation of PK-10, Peshawar led by provincial minister for public Health Engineering, Mr. Shah Farman called on the Chief Minster Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Pervez Khattak at CM secretariat on Monday and discussed with him matters related the welfare of the general masses, problem faced by them and provision of basic facilities of life to the people in the constituency. Member National Assembly of PTI, Mr. Gulzar Khan and General Manager Sui Northern Gas Pipeline limited were also present on the occasion. Talking to the members of the delegation the Chief Minister said that the present provincial government had come into power with the public mandate of change, and the public had high expectations of the government adding that the PTI led provincial government will bring about such change in the existing system in which all the problems of the people will be solved at their door steps and they will not need to visit the elected representatives and the public offices for the solution of their problems. He directed the GM, SNGPL to immediately take up case with the federal government to redress the complaints of the people of PK-10 regarding sui gas in the constituency.
