WIth the country divided over many issues these days, theres one thing that EVERYONE has to agree on. The fall weather here in the Tri-State area is awesome, and this year is the best ever! 68 degrees at 3 PM. By Thanksgiving, and through the holiday weekend, highs in the UPPER 70s are forecast. Lows in the mid 50s. Doesnt get much better than this. No wonder there is no unrest down here at the tip of Nevada..... Heres a great photo that says it all. I aimed the smart-phone SOUTH this time, looking down the CO River to Old Bullhead from the 19th floor of the EDGEWATER Hotel. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, heres a very quick history lesson.... Old Bullhead is a small area (less than 5 square miles) of Bullhead City, about 5 miles south of Davis Dam. It is the original Bullhead City, where nearly all of the hundreds of workers who were building the dam lived while the massive project was under construction in the early 50s. There are still dozens of the original small homes built back then, most of which are within a couple blocks of the river! Old Bullhead is within the city limits of Bullhead City, which, in fact, stretch north a few more miles up to land that is the southern end of the Lake Mead National Park recreational area. The main part of what is now the current Bullhead City, which is a couple miles to the south of Old Bullhead, started being developed in the 60s). Lesson over. Heres my pre-Thanksgiving portrait of Old Bullhead in all its glory, basking in the sun of another picture-perfect autumn afternoon. Taken at about 2PM today.
