WMDT COVERAGE. This tv station did a nice job for a short report and interviewed Brittany Goff, a senior at Salisbury University, who went undiagnosed with tick-borne diseases for ten years. Dr. Letitia Short was interviewed and she made a good point that doctors need to look at the patient, not just the test results to diagnose. Another cool thing was that the segment was concluded with a statement that went something like this: "health care professionals suggest that if you think you might have undiagnosed Lyme disease, you should seek help from your local Lyme association". Woo hoo! That was great! Also of note and as a follow-up to our post from yesterday on herniated discs and spinal degeneration being a symptom of both undiagnosed Lyme and undiagnosed gluten sensitivity, Brittany Goff made mention on the WMDT report that she, unfortunately, has fallen victim to permanent spinal damage from her undiagnosed Lyme disease. Brittany has made some videos on You Tube about her experience which will resonate especially with young people.
