WMNF NEW SOUNDS ARTIST HIGHLIGHT Day 3: Acoustic Valley: Folk, Indie, Bluegrass Band was formed in 2013 when 2 band members bumped into one another at St. Petersburg College. At the time Jon, was searching for a fiddler player to match his West Virginia roots sound. Brett happened to be carrying his cello with him that day and that was enough for them to exchange contact information. They quickly started gigging around St. Pete area. The name Acoustic Valley came later after writing a unique mix of sounds and emphasizing acoustic instrumentals. WMNF has helped shape Acoustic valley as evolving artists. One of their biggest musical influences are The Avett Brothers, which were supported quite a bit in their earlier years by WMNF.
