WNPS Field Trip: Larrabee State Park Coast to Ridge Date: Saturday January 18, 2014 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Meet: North Chuckanut Trailhead Explore the diversity of habitats from the beaches and bluffs along Samish Bay up through second growth forest to a ridge top overlooking the bay. We will visit Clayton Beach and nearby bluffs during the morning to observe dryer habitats with madrone trees and associated understory plants. For those who want to further indulge their love of our January weather, we will head up to a Chuckanut Mountain ridge top in the afternoon to examine plants associated with dense coastal forests and steep bluffs.
