WOOOOOOP - ADOPTED AFTER 10 YEARS IN THE SHELTER!! This has got to be our quickest Nobody Wants Me - Forgotten Animals rehome yet! Galgo was on our books for one day - yes you heard right - ONE DAY - and this longest-standing shelter resident has already found a home with the lovely James and Laura Goold. Galgo had been a faithful friend to his kennel mate Laila for many years and the two were so close it was thought better to not separate them. Very sadly last week Laila had to be put to sleep and Galgo was left a broken man. We knew we had to try to help him but he was getting very old to travel to another country. What could we do to help this old chap? Well, while I was putting my thinking cap on and pondering, Jennifer Willis was not prepared to hang about and took the above friends of hers who had sadly recently lost their lovely dog Fergus (who our Little Fergus was named after) to the shelter where she introduced them to Galgo. I personally think locking them in a kennel until they had agreed to adopt him was going a little far, humans rights wise, but it did the trick and it is now going to be our number one rehoming strategy ;-) We are so grateful to James and Laura for giving Galgo a warm comfortable home where he can spend the rest of his life and of course it goes without saying that the brilliant Melampo gave him many years of love and care at the shelter - we wish you lots of luck Galgo and hope to see some pics of you soon!
