WOOT! My brother Philip Lucero is being honored at the Southern Colorado Film Festival for his last film project, Hilos Culturales. Hilos Culturales was founded in 2000 to encourage and promote the celebration of Spanish Colonial folk music and dance distinct to the upper Rio Grande region of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. From the press release: The SoCO Film Festival committee has decided to give an honorary award to Phil Lucero as part of our Local Foods and Culture program in Carson Auditorium at Adams State University. This will take place on Sunday, Sept.14th beginning at 2pm and lasting until approximately 4:30-5pm. More information about this years festival can be found at: socofilmfest/ We will offer complimentary tickets to friends and family of Phil Lucero and encourage all to attend for the screening of an excerpt from Hilos Culturales as well as other work concerning food and culture in the San Luis Valley.
