WORD ALIVE … Bringing the relevance of God’s Word to our everyday life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEAVENLY RACE (Vol 2; No 210) When you give your life to Jesus and accept Him as your personal Saviour and the Lord over your life you’re enlisted into a race – the heavenly race. To win you must run the race. You can’t be a spectator and be a winner at the same time. You are either on one side or the other. You must choose one. Neutrality is not an option in this race. It is either you are with the cheering crowds on the gallery or with the athletes on the pitch where the sprint, scuttle and scampering take place. Casey Treat counsels, “God didn’t create you to be a spectator; He planned for you to run the race, finding and following His course of destiny to a life of significance and fulfillment.” You’ve got to be either active or passive in life. There is nothing like average Christian; you can either be hot or cold. You are useless when you’re lukewarm. God detests lukewarm attitude. He said He will spit such a person out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). An indecisive person gets nowhere with God. Such a person “is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8 NKJV). It is either you are inside or outside. The confident person usually makes his stand known. His is not equivocal. He doesn’t sit on the fence. One who sits on the fence keeps on dancing around to and fro, making a motion without any movement. The fence is a very unstable and unreliable place to be. The most dangerous place to be is at the middle of the road. In Christian race either you are aggressively going forward on purpose, or you are starting to slip backward consciously or unconsciously. Either you grow or you start to die. There is no such thing as a dormant Christian. So avoid actions and statements which may be misunderstood two ways. Avoid all duplicity. Let your position be very clear. If you change your position, say so, but beware of appearing to equivocate. Heavenly race – I won’t be tired Heavenly race – I won’t be tired I won’t be tired of running the heavenly race Until I stop at the feet of my Lord Jesus
