(4) “Before a girl’s turn came to go in to the King Xerxes (Ahasuerus), she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women ,....” The above text says Esther and other virgins selected for the beauty context had to go through a twelve month of beauty treatments, a sort of preparation, before they took turn to appear before the king. Esther went through such a preparation for a whole year under the watchful eyes of Hegai, the king’s eunuch; before she appeared before the king. Many of us focus all attention on the day of our manifestation, the day we will appear before the king; and we fail to do a thorough preparation. The year of great grace is not a time of slothfulness and sluggishness; it is a time of diligence – a time of showing quality and enough efforts at whatever we are doing. While Esther was waiting for her turn to come in to the king, she thoroughly and diligently gave herself up to her beauty treatments – to her preparation. Beloved, the time you spend in preparation is never wasted. It is the time God takes you away from every distraction to mould and shape you so that He can fill you and use you for His glory. The kind of preparation that you have determines the kind of results that you will get. A shoddy preparation begets a shoddy result.
