WORK - A responsible and dedicated worker who did the right thing today, even when his routine was disrupted. Most of you know that Josh has been working a new job over the summer. He has been working with a preschool teacher assisting her and the para with various duties. HE LOVES HIS JOB. For the past three weeks, Josh has been getting up himself in the morning, showering, dressing, coming upstairs and nagging me to get ready to drive him in to work A FULL HOUR BEFORE HE HAS TO BE THERE! Everything about that last sentence is GREAT, with the exception of the annoying nagging! :P After three full weeks of me NOT having to wake him, today, I forgot to and at 8:00 (he has to be at work at 8:30), I ran down to his apartment to find him sound asleep. I gently woke him, told him I was very, very sorry that I forgot to wake him up and asked, do you just want to stay home today and take the day off? He yawned, stretched, exhaled loudly and said, no. (I was beyond shocked. Normally, Josh would have absolutely used this disruption as a perfect reason why he couldnt go to work.) I informed him, well then, youre going to have to get up and get ready very quick, no shower and youll have to make your bed later when you get home. He said, yup! Five minutes later he was upstairs....full on smile on his face! As we drove to his job, he informed me.....I dont have socks on. (LOL) I didnt have time! I also didnt brush me teeth! (LOL) I handed him my container of BREATH MINTS! (LOL) We giggled all the way to work about how silly it was that he slept late and I forgot to wake him up. I also told him how proud I was of him for agreeing to get up and go on such short notice, since I know how important his routine is to him. You know what that tells me about this job he is doing, right???? HE LOVES, LOVES, LOVES, LOVES THE KIDS, THE TEACHERS AND THE STAFF AND I AM SO BEYOND HAPPY FOR HIM! Here is his drop off video. He immediately started chatting with Ms. Monet about his lack of time to get ready. I could SEE exactly what he was telling her.....no socks, didnt brush my teeth. LOL!!! She replied, thats okay Josh and its okay that youre telling me, but we dont have to tell everyone. I thought that her suggestion to him was PERFECT! We are so blessed that Josh is surrounded by people who get it!!!!!
