WORK OF CHANGE: “God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made” (James 1:18). There is no bad men per se,walang taong likas na masama, because we are all created in the likeness and image of God; that makes us all capable for change. When the first covenant faltered because of mans hardened hearts, God made a second covenant He put in the minds of man and written in their hearts by way of Jesus Christ: ang banal naging tao upang ang tao maging banal.- this is the purpose of the Gospel, - to transform man by the truth:People need more than bread for life; they must feed on every word of God (Matthew 4:4). Gods . . .gracious word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need (Acts 20:32). The truth transforms us. Spiritual groeth is the process of replacing lies with truth from the Holy Bible not from any other books of man; on the other hand For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all (2 Corinthians 4:17) It is the fire of suffering that brings forth the gold of godliness (Madame Guyon).God has a purpose behind every problem. In fact, God depends most on circumstances to make us like Jesus than He depends on our reading the Bible. In my view, the first one or the former is the santong dasalan while the latter is the santong pasapasan in Fililpino lengo. And there is no good men on earth other than the Almighty, as there is only one good on earth and in heaven, that is God the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.- The Night Stalker A POWERFUL WORD: “The Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). In China, when a teenager named Poh Fang learned about Jesus’ love for her and received Him as her Savior her parents weren’t sure about the merits of Christianity. So they sent her older sister with her to church to keep an eye on her. But something happened that they didn’t expect. The powerful Word of God penetrated the heart of the older sister, and she accepted Jesus as her Savior as well. The psalmist said of the Word of God. “Your precepts. . .have given me life” (Psalm 119.93). That’s the testimony of Poh Fang and her sister and all who know Christ as Savior. His Word is “powerful . . . and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrew 4:12). God’s Word shows us our sin and its consequences. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23); “the wages of sin is death” (v.6:23). It tells us of God’s love and salvation. “God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us. . .made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Ephesians 2:4-5). And it gives wisdom for daily living, “Your Word is lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119-105). Thank you, Lord, for your powerful Word, which gives us life and direction for daily living. MANY BOOKS INFORM, BUT ONLY ONE TRANSFORMS – THE BIBLE. – Anne Cetas,odb.org./The Night Stalker BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “CALL TO REPENTANCE AND CONVERSION OF HEART AND LIFE:”This is what can happen if the Gospel is proclaimed with conviction and sincerity – the lives of men and women will be transformed. There is nothing more exciting than to see a person undergo conversion and see the way God reveals Himself to them. They accept Him and the real work of change is begun and goes on and on. PRAY for guidance from the Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, speak to me. I wish to receive your Word into my heart. Send forth your spirit to me. Reveal your face to me today. Amen. Alleluia, alleluia! The Word of God is living and effective; discerning reflections and thoughts of the heart. Alleluia, alleluia! BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “” 1ST READING: JONAH 3:1-10 “The word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time:”Set out for the great city of Nineveh and announce the message I will tell you.” So Jonah made ready and went to Nineveh, according ton the LORD’s bidding.” Now Nineveh was an enormously large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began his journey through the city, and had gone but a single day’s walk announcing, “Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed,” when the people of Nineveh believed God, they proclaimed a fast and all of them, great and small put on sackcloth. When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way, he repented of the evil he had threatened to do to them; he did not carry it out.” “The message of all the prophets include a call to repentance and conversion of heart and life. This is one of the fundamental keystones of the Gospel and an essential aspect of its proclamation. Everywhere the Gospel is proclaimed, the first and most crucial fruit of its proclamation is not the miracles, signs and wonders, but repentance and the lives of the people undergoing conversion. Here is the truest sign of a work of God.” BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “” PSALM 25:4-9 . Teach me your ways, O Lord. “Your ways , O LORD, make known to me; teach me in your paths, guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my savior. Remember your compassion and love, O LORD, are from of old. In your kindness, remember me because of your goodness, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD; thus he shows the sinners the way. He guides the humble to justice, he teaches the humble his way.” BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “” 2ND READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 7:29-31 “I tell you, brothers, time is running out. From now on, let those having wives, act as not having them. Those weeping as not weeping, those rejoicing as not rejoicing, those buying as not owning, those using the world as not using it fully. For the world in its present form is passing away.” Paul’s concern is not to make life difficult to anyone. All he wants to see is the Gospel proclaimed to all. He has an idea that tie is short, and so in his mind, there is an urgency for this to happen. He may not be correct in this thinking that the end of the world was close, but he is certainly right that there is an urgency to proclaim the Gospel – even today!. The world needs to know the truth and live by it or else there will be more and more calamities and disaster brought about by errant decisions of humanity.” . BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “” GOSPEL: MARK 1:14-20 After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God. “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand, repent, and believe in the gospel.” As he passed by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea, they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. “ Then they abandoned their nets and followed him. He walk along a little further and he saw James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John They too were in a boat mending their nets. Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and followed him. “Jesus lays before us the fundamental message of the Gospel . “Repent and Believe.” And we have the story of the call of the first two apostles. This is the power of the Gospel in the lives of men and women. This is what can happen if the Gospel is proclaimed with conviction and sincerity – the lives of men and women will be transformed. There is nothing more exciting than to see a person undergo conversion and see the way God reveals Himself to them. They accept Him and the real work of change is begun and goes on and on.” READ THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: God’s special verse/thought for me today- JOHN 16-18 REFLECTIONS- THINK: “This is what can happen if the Gospel is proclaimed with conviction and sincerity – the lives of men and women will be transformed.” .” PRAY AGAIN-Thank the Lord for His message to you and pray that you may be able to live it out in your daily life. Long before we first heard of Christ. . .he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out for everything and everyone” (Ephesians 1:11). BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (25 January 2015 Sunday) “OBEDIENCE IS A CONDITION OF INTIMACY” Developing Our Friendship With God –I Must Choose To Obey God In Faith –Obedience Is A Condition of Intimacy: Every time we trust God’s wisdom and do whatever He says, even when you don’t understand it, we deepen our friendship with God. We don’t normally think of obedience as a characteristic of friendship; that’s reserved for relationships with a parent, or the boss or a superior officer, not a friend. However, Jesus made it clear that obedience is a condition of intimacy with God. He said, “You are my friends, if you do what I command.”Later, the word Jesus used when He called us “friends” could refer to the “friends of the king” in a royal court. While these companions had special privileges, they were still subject to the king and had to obey his commands. We are friends with God, but we are not His equals. He is our loving leader and we follow Him. .”- The Purpose-Driven Life, Rick Warren ”ALL FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD!
