{WOUNDED GLADIATORS} Okay... this is a touchy one and Im committed to write it anyway. Weve all had people who have believed in us, lifted us as they climbed, poured words of love, affirmation and wisdom into us, told us theyd never leave us and would always be there and then.... holy smokes - they disappeared, stop returning texts, betrayed you with an act you could never put words to for the public to hear, you heard whispers and rumors about what they said and how they said it and the list is endless *&$&%^#!!! Heres what I know for sure: YOU and only YOU are the one responsible for your vision, its birth and its longevity in this world. I know their lack of integrity and/or shift in priorities hurts and still, you must move on. You cannot dare allow their move to hold you hostage and take the energy of your conversations, text messages, blog posts, tweets and on and on. I have had and still have the best of mentors and teachers and inside of those great relationships Ive had breakdowns the size of the San Andreas Fault. I have learned to love and honor people for the season in my life when they thrive in power and when that season expires, lovingly (even when mixed with pain, fear, rejection and shame) release them and all of my attachment to their presence. This post isnt for everyone. This post is for those walking through the pain of missing someone who has deeply mattered to you. You counted on them and through your eyes, they let you down. I encourage you to shift your perspective. Take quiet time to unwrap your gift in sandpaper, nurture your wounds with wisdom and grace and move forward. Im in the journey with you.
