WOW!!!! @Drew Allan Hillier Cicconi explain: Okay, lets set the record straight. That is not Willy Bogner Jr., but Chuck Patterson. The film was part of an advertising campaign for Bogner Sportswear. Wave skiing is the brainchild of Chuck Patterson, not Willy Bogner. Willy, who is 72 years old, is no slouch, having won the world Junior championships in Alpine skiing combined and also taking 4th in the World Championships. He was a prodigious talent in his own right, winning the dangerous Lauberhorn downhill at Wengen, Switzerland. This gnarly downhill is the longest in downhill racing and the fastest with skiers reaching speeds of 100 mph. Willy won in 1960 on skis and bindings that would be considered death traps today. Getting back to Chuck Patterson, he is tremendous skier in his own right having held the world record for the greatest vertical drop at 142 feet! This record has since been eclipsed but at the time it was unbelievable. He is also a great surfer.
