WOW! Some people talk a good talk, but when you really stop to listen and analyze their speech a little closer, you realize that what they really are is nothing more then Living A Lie! I was recently Exposed to some behavior which is extremely damaging to the cause of Christ and if not dealt with, can literally Poison the entire Body! I will not get into it, but suffice to say that it was immediately dealt with and for that I am so grateful! Just a little poison can totally and completely bring devastation to an entire Church fellowship! Even in the secular world, honesty is something that is promoted as a keystone to morality. We have all heard the quote “honesty is the best policy”, it is a desired quality among the human race as it well should be! If the world esteems honesty so highly, and goes out of the way to promote it, then why are so many Christians living dishonest lives? You may disagree with the statement I just made, but after reading this article your opinion of my statement may change. How many of us can honestly say that weve truly come to grips with who we are or were before God came into our lives and saved us? Is it even possible to repent apart from seeing your reflection, beholding yourself in light of Scripture? The Lord Jesus Christ tells us to “take heed therefore how ye hear... There is a condition that is holding back our relationship with God, our spiritual growth and our relationships and fellowship among the congregation. This condition is called “the mask”, and it is subtle and seemingly harmless, but in depth can become a great stumbling block! The mask is the face that most of us put on when we step inside of the church building on Sunday; it is usually clothed in self righteousness and pride. The face that says, “my life is so perfect; I am such a good Christian; I dont have any problems and everything is all good”. The mask is a defense mechanism due to fear of rejection and seeking the approval of men rather than of God (John 5:44). It contains a form of godliness but denies the power of God. It is nothing more than pure darkness that transforms itself into an angel of light. The mask greatly hinders intimacy with God and our brothers and sisters in Christ, and if not dealt with can lead to some very serious and strong delusion! The children of Light are transparent because God’s light has shined through and penetrated the darkness that was in us before we were saved! There is no darkness in Jesus Christ and there should therefore be no darkness in our lives. Secrets have no place in the Church; Luke 8:17 says “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad”. Darkness and secrets poison our soul and hinder the Holy Spirit from moving and flowing freely in our lives and as the Scriptures so vividly put it, light has no fellowship with the darkness.
