WOW, WOW, WOW! Here it is August 5, 2014 and I am still walking on air! I still wake up every morning wondering if the election results were just a dream. Could this really be true? Then I remember that yes, it actually was a dream; a dream that I have had for as long as I can remember. A dream that God and you made come true. You have elected me to be the next Superior Court Judge for the Conasauga Judicial Circuit. WOW, WOW, WOW! For the past several days I have struggled to find just the right words to say to each of you individually and personally about how much my family and I appreciate your prayers, support and vote. What could I possibly say that would adequately describe how much your support and help in this election means to me? What do I say to someone who felt so strongly about this election and the needs of Whitfield and Murray Counties that they took time away from their busy lives to make sure that positive change happened in the election? Then I was reminded that finding the right words was impossible because the English language is completely inadequate to describe what I feel in my heart today and what I felt on July 22. I believe that is intentional because the strongest evidence of what the heart feels is manifest in actions, not words. Simple words are too easy, anyone one can say them, no matter what they feel. But acts require intent and effort to act out the intent of the heart. So, I intend to do both. From this point forward I will tell you and show you by actions from my heart, that is filled with gratitude and respect for each of you. I have had a chance to see several of you personally to tell you how much I appreciate your hard work, active support, and vote. I will continue to make an active effort to get to see each of you in person so I can also tell you. I also promise to show my appreciation by my actions on the bench. Each day that I am blessed to serve will start with a prayer of thanksgiving for the opportunity, and a prayer that I act with both the purpose to help and show thanks, and to serve each of you by being fair and just to the best of my ability. It has been an amazing and blessed journey to this point. Thank you again for making it possible for me to achieve my dream! THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU! GOD BLESS OUR COMMUNITIES! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
