WOW, WOW, WOW what a great Spark! Love David A2J Hi one spark and Dave, I want to tell you about a spark that my eight-year-old son did while we were at Kentucky fried chicken. We do not have a lot of money and once a month we take her children to Kentucky fried chicken to get a treat. This is my sons favorite place to eat, and I have to say that he would give about anything to eat Kentucky fried chicken. We live in a very cold climate and the night that we went to eat Kentucky fried chicken it was down to 9°. As we got her food my eight-year-old looked out the window and saw a man shivering, and all of a sudden he jumped up and ran outside and started to talk to the man. Pretty soon they both came back into the restaurant and sat down with us. My son looked at his father nine told us that he was not hungry and he was gonna give this man his food. I know my husband and I look shocked at first, and then the pride of my son doing such an awesome act hit our hearts and we began to smile from ear to ear. My husband asked me how much money we had so he could buy this man his own meal and my son can continue to eat his own meal. I fumbled around in my purse and came up with three dollars and he had two dollars of his own. When he got up to the register the manager said dont worry about paying this is on the restaurant. My husband said why, the manager said I was not trying to be nosy but I overheard your conversation with the homeless man and it touched my heart. The manager walked over and asked the man what he would like to eat and he said anything. When the manager came back he had a bucket of chicken and all the trimmings for this man to eat. The man lowered his head and started to cry and said I dont know why somebody would want to do this for me. My son got up and went over and kissed him on his cheek and said because God loves you and so do we. We sat there for over two hours and enjoyed the company of this man and found out so much about him. He served in the Army and was wounded in battle. He said that he been looking for a job for quite some time but could not find anything because he didnt have a permanent residence. My husband asked him if he had a valid drivers license and he said yes. He said are companies looking for somebody to drive a truck do you think that might be something youd like to do. The man said I will do anything to earn a paycheck to get back on my feet. My husband asked Jim if he wanted to come to our house and spend the night. Jim set I hate to impose in my son said youre not imposing we would like for you really to come and spend the night. Jim is now been working for five months and has his own apartment. He has become an uncle to my children and they love him dearly. Jim goes down on the streets and helps a lot of the people that he knows who live on the streets. What an awesome ripple our little spark is had on Jims life and everybody who comes in contact with Jim experiences that ripple also. Dave, I have to say without the one spark foundation in this awesome page me and my family would never have ever thought about doing something like we did to help Jim. Thank you so much for all you do and thank you for changing my family. And yes truly one spark can start a fire.
