WOW! What an overwhelming and emotional feeling I just got now when I visited the Frederic Place Old Age Home. Seeing the elderly made me realise just how good GOD truly is. What made me more emotional was seeing MR. Matsepe. My heart sank and I felt like crying. He still looks the same. What a great Principle you were Mr. Dorrington Matsepe. We love and salute you for what you have done for us at Corrie High School Mr. Dorrington Matsepe,’s legacy is still alive and his tenure as principal was the golden era of the school of the 80’s. He was a very amazing and inspirational human being. Very strict though but we loved and cherished him and he loved all his students. He was instrumental in laying a strong foundation during his stint as principal of the school and wanted the best for the learners of Corrie High. Mrs. Rabia Fredericks - My bestest teacher ever en ek was die stoute in haar klas . She wasn’t just my typing teacher but my mother and mentor and she loved me. Her strength was not only to serve in education, but to serve her learners. It is with great mixed joy to offer tribute to her and Mr. Matsepe. I love them because to me, they were that guy and gal for the learners of Corrie High School. The dynamic leaders They had a way of reaching the learners and on such a personal level. They always were encouraging and loved us regardless. They never gave up on none of their learners. They never judged us, maar hulle het ons pak gegee, for the right reasons They truly lived what they spoke and taught. They were people with integrity and constant love for their learners They just wanted the best and wanted us to be the best learners They shaped the lives of the learners of Corrie High. They were parents to hundreds of children. These are the two teachers who have sowed into my life and will never forget them Mr. Matsepe and Mrs. Fredericks “my guy and gal”, you were such a blessing to this school. People of brilliance, wisdom, wit, love and compassion, you will forever be our Legends. You held and nurtured dreams of others as if they were your own. You often single handedly encouraged dreams into fruition. Your commitment to this school, its learners and colleagues was second to none. You were good mentors who have imparted good education in your learners. You have groomed your learners to become leaders. You have directed us along the right path, and have inspired us to seek our own paths. You have encouraged us to discover our talents. These are the legacy you left for us. Therefore you are truly loved, treasured and missed beyond measure and I can never thank you enough for what you have done for me, and every other learner. So today I promise to live your legacy and I will now give back to my school Corrie High what you have taught me. Corrie High will never die!
