WOW. Wooooooooooow. In a study group, we have been discussing pride - its Scriptural aspects, what it looks like, how it is defined. Among the dominant biblical definitions are: elevating ones own desires above the instruction of YHWH; deciding that what we want / how we want things to happen trumps what Scripture says; determining that because we **think** or **feel** sooooo strongly and positively about a behavior or event, He must therefore honor it. This very short video demonstrates the overtly prideful attitude exemplified in the philosophy of ,He knows my heart; Im sure Hes okay with this; we have christianized those old pagan traditions and so now theyre acceptable and God MUST appreciate our efforts. And it is amazing, because many who cling so tightly to these religious customs and traditions of man and insist that they are okay to God now (despite Yeshuas stern rebuke in Mark 7:1-13) will also boldly proclaim that obedience to the commandments of YHWH (Sabbath, feasts, clean eating) is contrary to our Messiah and abuse of his grace. Yes, indeed, He knows your heart. That very statement betrays whose heart a person is concerned with - HIS OWN. Shouldnt we instead be endeavoring to learn HIS heart and HIS ways? Many are desperate to defend holidays which appear exactly ZERO times in Scripture, while rejecting holy days commanded and prevalent in that same book. Why in the world is this the case?? Joh 3:30 He (Yeshua) must increase, but I must decrease.
