WOW, what a day! The Wild West Gromit stood proudly at the entrance to the School. Ex teacher at QE, Julia Sanders expertly introduced Peter Lord who was brilliant; patient with the huge queues of autograph hunters, entertaining, warm and funny. The Audience certainly got their monies worth as he spoke and showed some wonderful films for an hour. We then we broke for tea and cake. The ladies of StockleighPom produced some amazing cakes and were kept very busy. Special mention to Susie of SB Cake Design who excelled herself with 80 truly brilliant Wallace & Gromit cupcakes & a huge cream covered sponge dripping with raspberries & blueberries! Then we all staggered back to our seats and Peter educated and entertained us for a further hour and a quarter. We then had the Raffle, for which there had been a veritable frenzy of ticket buying. We had a bottle of Champagne ( kindly donated by a Friend) a truly Fabulous Cake of Gromit taking a Bubble bath (again by Susie) which I hope to put up a photo of, and a Morph figure which Peter made whilst he was talking! This was won by a suitably awestruck little girl! After all this another queue formed of people wanting to talk to and get autographs from Mr Lord. I finally had to turn th lights out to get people to leave! We made in the region of £1200. Final total to be confirmed. Many thanks to ALL involved, Peter Lord, Julia, The Villagers who set too and made it all work, QE for the hall and the audience for coming and buying raffl tickets and eating as much cake as they could. Photos will be posted as soon as I have them. Did you go, what did you think?
