WRITING WORKSHOP- AN EXPERIENCE Hello, I am not a writer, this is what I said when my friend Kiran suggested me for the writers workshop she was going to conduct with talented writers. My explanation was something like this, yes I do pen down my thoughts, you know how expressive I am, I get this constant urge of writing whatever comes to my mind, but I am not some literary genius or someone who writes out of the box. Doing a workshop on this art form sounded like an alien idea to me but I feel you dont choose life, the life chooses you and in my case it leads me to people, events, moments, incidents and sometimes books (once I picked up a wrong book from the store and later when I read it I realized why) its almost like it is falling right into my lap at right moment and and each association leads me further into discovering myself. I would totally put this writing workshop into this slot. yes, it happened to me and happened for good. How would a room be when it is filled with such creative, lovely, free spirited people.The energy inside that room was unimaginable. Sometimes the presence of few people make all the difference. Sometimes just being there with them makes all the difference. I felt almost like this small saplings which grows around the big trees which nobody notices, but they get all the nutrition from these huge trees, without even the tree realizing that they are making this difference. Like this sapling I was just present, just aware, just listening, just soaking, just absorbing. I could never imagine that I could write something so instantly, I never thought a sudden smell, feel or touch can evoke stories inside me, I never thought you just have to show up continuously and the muse will appear. I didnt actually know so many things. For all of us there is a tension between who we are, what we really feel we can do or want or need, sometimes its hard to tell but without exploration how will we know. Life is a bouquet of these possibilities, which are just everywhere around us, we need to just step ahead and pick them up, just choose. These choices we make everyday take us further and our search continues, moment by moment, breath by breath, step by step. P.S Writing is a also a side effect of too much reading.( learnt yesterday)
