WRONG DIRECTION, Part 1 (conclusion next Thursday) Edgar Kennedy is a promising movie director until his Family crashes the set. Leonard Maltin wrote fondly: ...one of the most unusual, and pleasing, early shorts in which Edgar is (incredibly enough) an assistant director at Magnetic Pictures, the logo of which is a nice spoof of RKOs. The director of an important picture on which Ed has been working walks off the set one morning and the studio boss asks Edgar if he thinks he can finish the picture in one day... Billie Eugene plays Brother in this one. Amazingly, the family dynamic here in 1934 is the same as it was in 1948, with Dot Farley repeating her role as Mother, Florence Lake as Edgars wife, but with Jack Rice playing Billy Eugene in the Brother role.
