WRRCers: Two running questions from a [somewhat] newbie... 1. Why can I absolutely NOT run in this Texas summer heat? I get about one mile out and I feel like I have already run a marathon. I am properly hydrated & fueled, and well rested; I have even tried adding a full minute - sometimes more - to my pace. My runs turn into walks. I seem to have no energy and even when pushing myself cannot get past a shuffle. Is this normal? 2. Does it matter that my training plans have long runs on Saturday and my races are on Sunday? Does this affect me on race days? What is the difference? Do yall adjust your plans to have long runs fall on Sunday?
