WSPM’s Strategic Directions Our Vision: That women and girls become leaders, and have equal opportunities, in all spheres of life. Our Mission: To conduct research, provide training and leadership capacity building workshops, as well as facilitate economic empowerment for women and girls in general and refugees in particular. Our Motto: To help women help themselves. Our Values: Equal Opportunity: We believe that women and men were created not to compete but to complement each other. Therefore, women must not for whatever reasons, be discriminated from accessing the necessary social, cultural, economic, physical, legal and intellectual resources for development. Based on this belief we help disadvantaged and marginalised women and girls to realise their potentials, gain self-esteem, self-confidence, self-determination and become change-leaders. Accountability and Integrity: We seek to ensure and maintain high standards of accountability and integrity in handling financial, human and other physical resources for the organisation. Excellency: We seek to deliver excellent results within budgets, time-bound and scope of programme areas. Our organization’s Strategic Objectives: •To promote women and girls leadership through providing training in leadership development and leadership transformation, gender education and information communication technology, conflict transformation and peace-building; •To promote lifelong education and training for disadvantaged women and girls through counselling, scholarships, vocational life skills training and educational loans to those in need; •To initiate projects towards employment creation for women’s economic independence, and provide revolving credits facility to low-income entrepreneurs and poor women, single mothers and girls to ensure poverty alleviation, increase household food security and saving for women’s empowerment; •To create a research body and network with others for advancing women’s rights in war zones, and to advocate against harmful traditional practices against girls and women; •To organise meetings, workshops, training of trainers, public policy lobbying and awareness raising campaigns to combat violence against women and girls in Africa; and collaborate with others.
