WVC’s Brubeck Theatre will be filled with the lovely sounds of Christmas on Sunday, December 8 when Wabash Valley College and the Wabash Valley Arts Council usher in the Christmas season with “The Musical Spirit of Christmas” Concert Showcase at 1:30 p.m. The Wabash Valley College Community Choir will return to the stage to open this year’s Showcase. Directed by Stephen G. Sawyer, this outstanding choral group will begin the program with traditional seasonal favorites. Members of the Choir include: Sopranos: Rena Bever, Patricia Cotsakis, Claudia Dant, Conni Harness, Peggy Kolb, Kaycee Lewis, Eleanor Painter, Jackie Meece Summers; Altos: Victoria Bayne, Diana Daniel, Carolyn Highhouse, Diane Hill, Kathryn Summers, Jeanne Tennis, Mary Trimble; Tenors: Phil Coleman, Rob Coleman, Gary Hargett, Joe Thompson; Basses: Bill Berry, Vernon Buchanan, James Farley, Allan Wright. Also to be featured will be a second-act performance by the Hawf Family String Band staging a “Christmas Family Homecoming.” The Band members include: Douglas Hawf-Guitar & Banjo, Tonia Hawf-Bass, Dylan Hawf-Violin, Rachel Hawf-Violin, Alex Hawf-Mandolin & Cello. Guest musicians included in the program are: Dave Parman-Guitar & Violin, Isaac Parman-Viola, Dakota Bishop-Cello, Anna Fowler-Harp, Emily Fowler-Harp. This always-popular performance of beautiful sacred and secular seasonal music is a concert the entire family will want to attend.
