WWE Monday Night Raw Results for 6/17/13: We get still photos from last night’s Payback PPV We are live from Grand Rapids, Michigan for WWE Monday Night Raw and we kick things off with the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio coming out to the ring. Del Rio asks how everyone’s weekend was and hears everyone talking about the Man Of Steel and asks why everyone’s talking about the Man Of Steel when they have a Man Of Gold and calls himself a real superman. He says some are saying the way he won the championship was controversial but what about the night after Wrestlemania. He calls that controversial. He was injured but gave him a fight and everyone cheered for a coward who attacked an injured man. He should be surprised and offended but isn’t. He gets it. He heard the reaction last night and every night and he gave the fans everything but the fans never showed him any respect. We get a”Ziggler” chant and a “USA” chant. He doesn’t understand how people don’t cheer for him but cheer for pigs and cowards and says that’s what America is all about. He says he fought for the fans for the last 5 months and didn’t get anything. Last night he fought for himself and got the World Heavyweight Championship. He says he’s going to be the better man and give everyone a second chance to show him the respect he deserves. CM Punk then comes out. Punk says last time they were in the ring together was Survivor Series 2011. He’s not out here because Del Rio has a problem with the people. He’s out here because heard Del Rio say he’s the best. Punk says there’s only one Best In The World and Del Rio’s looking at him. So he’s out here to challenge him. Heyman cuts Punk off and says his clients don’t fight for free. Punk asks what Heyman is doing. He tells Heyman he knows he’s banged up but while Del Rio was stealing the title from Ziggler, he was stealing the show with Jericho. And he proved he’s the best last night. Del Rio says Punk doesn’t want this and Punk says yes he does. Del Rio says he’s the World Champion and Punk doesn’t want him. Punk then asks Ricardo if he wants to fight. Vickie Guerrero comes out and says Del Rio doesn’t get to make decisions and as great as the PPV was last night, she can’t think of a better way to keep the momemtum going then having Raw’s main event being Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk -Commercial- Backstage: Heyman says he cares for Punk and got carried away. Punk says Heyman almost cost Punk the match last night but he doesn’t need Heyman’s help and says he’s not Curtis Axel or Brock Lesnar. He’s not Heyman’s client and he will always be a Paul Heyman guy but doesn’t want him at ringside for his matches anymore Wade Barrett vs Christian Barrett unloads on Christian. Barrett looks for Wasteland but Christian counters throwing him to the outside. Christian from the top rope dives to the outside onto Barrett with a crossbody. Barrett lays Christian over the top rope and delivers a kick to the ribs. Chinlock on Christian. Christian planted in the corner and seated on the second rope. Christian with a dropkick to Barrett. Barrett runs into an elbow and Christian delivers a tornado DDT. Barrett with a kick to the gut. Pumphandle slam countered by Christian. Barrett hits the steel post. Killswitch by Christian for the three count Winner: Christian We get another Wyatt Family promo -Commercial- Sheamus vs Team Rhodes Scholars Team Rhodes Scholars double teaming Sheamus. Sheamus fighting them off. Sandow snapmared off the top rope. Clothesline to Rhodes. Sandow delivers the Cobito Acquiet. Sandow holds Sheamus in place as Rhodes slaps Sheamus. Rhodes sent flying over the top rope to the floor. Sheamus hits the axehandle, shoulder tackle and high knee. Rolling senton to Sandow. Rhodes gets hit with the Fiery Red Hand. Powerslam to Sandow. Sheamus hits Rhodes with White Noise. Sheamus setting up to hit Rhodes with the Brogue Kick but Sandow rolls Sheamus up for the three count The winners of the match: Team Rhodes Scholars -Commercial- Backstage: Triple H walks into Vickie’s office and says the Punk-Del Rio match was wonderful thinking but asks if Punk hadn’t shown up what would the main event be. Vickie asks if Triple H saw her surprise and bringing Christian back. Triple H says he saw but Christian’s been cleared for months. And as far as RVD doesn’t recall either of their names coming up during his deal with Rob Van Dam. And one final thing tells Vickie The Shield’s been running roughshod and need to be made an example of if they interfere tonight Backstage: Bryan is preparing for his match and Kane walks in and asks if they can talk. Bryan says Kane’s happy he didn’t win last night it’s written all over his face. Bryan says the only way he’ll ever be able to prove himself is by not being part of any team and he can only be a part of Team DB tonight. Bryan says he needs to win the World Title and prove to himself he’s not the weak link and Kane says he also wants to win the World Title and asks if they’re done and Bryan says he doesn’t know -Commercial- Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton Bryan works over the arm. Orton counters into a hammerlock. Front facelock by Orton. Bryan with kicks to the leg. Bryan going to work on the leg and Orton fights out of the corner stomping away at Bryan. Suplex by Orton. Orton with the Thesz Press and Bryan rolls through into a half crab. Orton kicks Bryan away. Rake to the eyes by Orton. Side headlock by Bryan. Clothesline by Bryan and dropkick in the corner. Suicide dive by Bryan but Orton side steps as Bryan hits the barricade. Orton pulls out a kendo stick from underthe ring. Orton with kendo shots to the back -Commercial- Headbutt by Orton. Orton looking for a superplex. Bryan counters with a headbutt of his own and missile dropkick from the top rope. Bryan lands his series of kicks. Misses with a roundhouse and Orton with a suplex. Bryan counters the DDT looking for the No Lock. Orton launches Bryan over the ropes. Bryan skins the cat but Orton sends Bryan crashing to the floor again. Bryan back in unloading on Orton. Orton drops Bryan on the back of his head across the barricade. The referee calls for the bell as trainers check on Bryan The winner of the match by referee stoppage: Randy Orton -Commercial- AJ comes out and says unfortunately Dolph Ziggler isn’t here because he’s not cleared but soon enough he’ll be back to share the spotlight with the greatest diva’s champion. She says she’s always been champion but now she has something to prove it. She made Kaitlyn tap out last night and calls herself a hero and a woman who knows how to get what she wants and calls herself strong and courageous and challenges any other diva who thinks they can compare themselves to her to come out. Stephanie McMahon then comes out. Stephanie calls AJ an underdog and congratulates her on her victory. She doesn’t understand AJ’s stereotypical way of thinking that women would rather tear each other down then build each other up. AJ then says maybe she should be like Stephanie and what she did to Kaitlyn was original and a masterpiece. Stephanie tells AJ if she wants to be a diva’s champion she suggests AJ start acting like a champion. AJ says she’s Stephanie just younger. Stephanie reminds AJ she can take all of that away. Kaitlyn comes out and says AJ humiliated her and broke her and now it’s Kaitlyn’s turn and a brawl ensues -Commercial- Kane vs Dean Ambrose Right hand by Kane. Ambrose runs into a big boot. Slam by Kane. Clotheslines in the corner and a sidewalk slam by Kane. Kane hits the clothesline from the top rope. Rollins and Reigns interfere and drop Kane with the powerbomb The winner of the match by DQ: Kane -Commercial- Backstage: Vickie is about to discipline The Shield but Vince walks in and says The Shield remind him of him. Ruthless Agression and to keep it up. And he never really liked Kane and calls him a Halloween mask wearing freak We see the second Wyatt Family promo -Commercial- Antonio Cesaro vs William Regal Zeb Colter comes out and cuts a promo on the American government and every day foreigners sneak across the border and they are at war and sometimes war creates unlikely alliances and to prove he and Jack Swagger are not prejudicial they have joined forces to work alongside a man although not born in America speaks 5 languages the first and most important being English Cesaro delivers an uppercut and gutwrench to Regal. Forearmby Cesaro. Regal fighting back with a series of forearms and a clothesline. Suplex countered by Cesaro and Cesaro hits his own suplex. Chinlock on Regal. Cesaro hits The Neutralizer for the three count The winner of the match: Antonio Cesaro -Commercial- John Cena comes out and says everyone is under one roof tonight because they share one common interest they all love WWE and everyone has their favourite superstars. He admires the fans because through the years they’ve always been honest with him. There’s a group that doesn’t like him then there’s another group that admires him because he goes to war for them every single night. He said 2012 was a bad year but after challenges from The Rock and walking through 3 stages of hell he says the champ is here. Tonight he doesn’t ask the fans to hang in there… he tells them that he can face any challenge and 4 weeks from now he knows where his next challenge comes from at Money In The Bank. He knows he won’t have the WWE Title forever but the next person who holds the title will have earned it. Mark Henry then walks out. Henry shakes Cena’s hand and tells him to stay because he has something he wants to tell everyone. Henry says he respects everyone who loves this business and everyone who works for the WWE because he knows how difficult it is. He was a seasoned veteran in 2002 when Cena came in and says Cena’s doing an awesome job. Henry says at the rate Cena’s going he’s going to be the greatest champion of all time. If he has any regrets about his career. He’s been champion, strongest man in the world. He’s had a lot of success and done pretty good for himself and announces his retirement from the active WWE roster. The crowds chant “One More Match”. Cena raises Henry’s hand and then Henry delivers the World’s Strongest Slam and leaves the ring. -Commercial- Backstage: Mark Henry said he had everyone fooled and called them all puppets. The WWE Title is the only title he’s never held and is challenging John Cena Heath Slater vs Chris Jericho Shoulderblock and chops by Jericho. Dropkick by Slater. Axehandle from the top rope. Running bulldog. Lionsault by Jericho but McIntyre hits a cheap shot thwarting Jericho’s attempt. Slater with a slam and a fistdrop. Running bulldog and Lionsault. Jericho with the Codebreaker for the three count The winner of the match: Chris Jericho Backstage: Paul Heyman is the best friend of the best in the world and knows when friends need to give each other a little space and Matt Striker should be asking about the new Intercontinental Champion who is going to walk out for the first time as champion and prove he’s better than perfect -Commercial- Curtis Axel vs Sin Cara Axel unloads on Sin Cara. Backbreaker by Axel. Sin Cara with a dropkick sends Axel to the outside. Sin Cara runs into a right hand. Back suplex by Axel. Slam countered by Sin Cara into an inverted DDT. Sin Cara with a senton from the top rope. Axel with a DDT for the three count The winner of the match: Curtis Axel -Commercial- Backstage: Vince applauds Vickie and Brad on doing a great job but Henry sucked him in and had him crying. He wants to know what Vickie is going to do about it. Vickie makes John Cena vs Mark Henry - Commercial- Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk Punk goes after Del Rio. Del Rio to the outside buying himself a little time. Punk goes after the legs and Del Rio again goes to the outside to take a breather. Punk right after him tossing him back in the ring. Kick to the head by Del Rio and Del Rio stomps away on Punk. Suplex by Del Rio. Punk firing back with knee strikes. Del Rio has Punk in the corner. Enziguri by Del Rio. Punk going for the GTS but Del Rio counters escaping to the outside. Suicide dive by Punk. Ricardo providing the distraction Del Rio back with a kick to the arm then a dropkick sends Punk to the floor -Commercial- Tilt o whirl backbreaker by Del Rio. Del Rio to the top rope and Punk cuts him off. Heel kick to the face by Punk. Del Rio with punches to the back and a backstabber. Roll up by Punk and Del Rio with a kick to the side of the head by Del Rio. Cross armbreaker by Del Rio countered by Punk. High running knee by Punk. Punk hits the GTS and Del Rio falls to the outside and the referee counts as Del Rio and Ricardo make their way up the ramp. Ziggler attacks from behind. The winner of the match by count out: CM Punk Post Match: Brock Lesnar comes out. Lesnar calls for a mic and delivers an F5 to Punk -End Show-
