*** WWE Smackdown 07/04/14 Results *** * Smackdown opens with Seth Rollins coming out to the ring. He discussed what happened on Monday saying that sooner or later he will cash in that contract and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Dean Ambrose came out to the stage to interrupt Rollins and once again promised him that he will always stop him from cashing in. A little verbal exchange and Ambrose came rushing into the ring as he and Seth Rollins brawl. The Viper Randy Orton came out and helped Rollins beat down on Ambrose. Roman Reigns comes out for the save. Reigns was able to fend off Orton and Rollins who escaped to the ramp. Triple H comes out and said that since Ambrose wants a fight and hes going to get one when he faces Randy Orton. As for Reigns, since he likes to stick his nose in everyones business, if he interferes then he is out of the Fatal Four Way Match at WWE Battleground for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. * United States Championship Match: Sheamus defeated Alberto del Rio in a solid match. Sheamus got the win after escaping a moonsault from del Rio and then nails him with a Brogue Kick to retain. * Backstage Goldust and Stardust were interviewed. Roman Reigns was also interviewed in a separate spot. Reigns says he will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Battlegrounds. Believe that. * Bo Dallas beat Diego with a Bo-Dog. Bo is still undefeated. * Chris Jericho is out to huge cheers from the crowd. He thanked Bray Wyatt for reminding him that WWE is all about survival and telling him that if Wyatt wants to get crazy, he can get crazy. Bray appears on the screen to respond saying that Save us, Chris. Save yourself.. Y2J issues an open challenge to Bray, but here comes Miz to interrupt. The Miz eats a CodeBreaker after some talk. * Cesaro and Big E never got started. They started brawling into the outside before the bell could start. Cesaro throws him into the barricade before backing him into it. Big E reverses a whip into the barricade, and he clotheslines Cesaro down. Big E throws Cesaro into the timekeepers area before hitting him with a chair. Cesaro throws him over the commentary table. Cesaro sends Big E into the steel steps. Cesaro goes to throw him into the ring post, but Big E blocks it. Big E then hits a belly-to-belly overhead suplex on the floor. Heyman then pulls Cesaro away as referees come down to keep Big E back. * AJ Lee defeated Eva Marie in a non-title Divas match. Aj got the submission win with her Black Widow lock. Paige who was on commentary came in the ring and applauds AJ and shakes her hand. Aj was left confused. * Damien Sandow is in the ring dressed as Bruce Springteen. Rusev came out and nailed him with a thrust kick then threw him out of the ring. Lana started talking and mocks America during its Independence Day. Jack Swaggers music hit and out he comes with Zeb Colter. Zeb pointed out that the only thing Russia accomplished or invented was vodka. Swagger and Colter got in the ring and had some verbal exchange with Lana and Rusev. Rusev and Lana decided to back off and leave the ring. * Dean Ambrose beat Randy Orton via disqualication in the main event match of the night. Good match which saw Seth Rollins, who was on commentary for the match, hit Ambrose with the MITB Briefcase while he was on the top rope to doa suicide dive causing the DQ finish. Rollins and Orton beat down on Ambrose again, this time focusing on his shoulder. Roman Reigns comes out for the save. He tosses Rollins to the floor and hits a Superman Punch on Orton. Orton and Rollins retreat once again. Reigns and Ambrose stand tall in the ring to end the show. ***********************************
