Wa to host the next Central Committee Meeting of the Gonjaland Youth Association Written by Gonjaland Friday, 08 November 2013 20:57 Wa in the Upper West Region has been selected as the town to host the Central Committee Meeting of the Gonjaland Youth Association this month from 29th November to 30th November. The Central Committee (CC) Meeting of the Gonjaland Youth Association at its last meeting at Tamle in August 2013 settled on Yeji in the Brong-Ahafo region as the town to host the next meeting in November 2013 but the executive took a decision to relocate the venue from Yeji to Wa as a result of security concerns in Yeji. Recently two people died and 12 others received various degrees of injures during a durbar of the Yeji Youth Association at Yeji in the Brong Ahafo Region. The incident occurred after a chief in the area who is not recognized by a faction decided to attend the programme when he had not been invited. According to the Ghana News Agency, as soon as the chief arrived at the durbar grounds, a number of unidentified men in a taxi fired gun shots and killed the two people. The Central Committee Meeting is made up of the National Executive Committee Members, Branch Presidents, Secretaries and Women Commissioners and co-opted members.
