WaNavi is a nonprofit organization made of women from various nationalities who live in Japan. They provide international residents and their families with critical information and support through workshops and events. WaNavi needs your help! WaNavi Japan is looking for volunteers to help with our Otsukimi Workshop this September! It is a great opportunity to get involved in the Harvest Moon Festival, a Japanese autumn tradition. Meet new people and take part in organizing one of our popular family workshops! There are various ways to get involved. Please see below for more information and fill in the volunteer application form. Feel free to contact us for any inquiries! Requirement: 1) Understand and resonate with the vision and mission of WaNavi Japan: To provide meaningful opportunities for Japanese and International residents to interact and build personal ties. 2) Be ready and able to invest the time required to attend meetings and correspond via email to prepare for the event 3) Willing and able to work in a positive cooperative manner with members and event participants from different backgrounds, countries, age groups, life-stages, genders, work experiences and work cultures , and are comfortable working with children 4) Be able to attend on the day of the workshop If you are a skilled musician and willing to perform on the day, have experience with arts or crafts, have experience working with children, or any other special abilities please let us know so we can make the most of your talents! Required commitment*: Sept 6 Preparation meeting (2 hours) Sept 20 Otsukimi workshop (5 hours, including setup, actual event and cleanup) *Times and dates may shift slightly. If this happens we will communicate with all volunteers and try to give as much advance warning as possible. If you have children you are welcome to bring them to meetings, we strive to provide child-friendly environments.
