Wade S. (Chip) Weatherford, III May 23, 1946 - March 31, 2014 Gaffney, SC - - Honorable Wade S. (Chip) Weatherford, III, 67, of 170 Cherokee Creek Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Columbia, he was the husband of Vicki Littlejohn Weatherford and son of the late Honorable Wade S. Weatherford, Jr. and Eleanor Redyke Weatherford. He was a graduate of Wofford College and the University of South Carolina School of Law, and was an attorney practicing in Gaffney and Municipal Court Judge for the City of Gaffney. He was a certified Circuit Court Mediator, a U. S. Marines veteran, a member of the Cherokee and South Carolina Bar Associations, and a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved gardening, bird feeding, cooking, and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Jon Wade Weatherford and wife, Anna, of Murrells Inlet, Calton Sparks of Spartanburg and Seth Sparks and fiance, Alexandra Piggott, of Greenville; two daughters, Ashley Dunlap and husband, Heyward, of Greenville and Amanda Reep and husband, Chris, of Gaffney; a brother, Rick Weatherford and wife, Phoebe, of Beaufort; a sister, Lynn Weatherford of Landrum; three grandchildren, George Dunlap, Claiborne Dunlap and Alexis Reep, and an anticipated grandchild, Elijah Wade Weatherford. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Davidson and Rev. Mike Frazier officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, “Debt Retirement Fund”, 501 Buck Shoals Road, Gaffney, SC 29341. The family will be at the family home, 308 Union Street, Gaffney.
