Wagner is all set to take on Sydney Motorsport Park Queenslander Aiden Wagner has been traveling between states to get as much time on his Yamaha R6 Supersport bike in time for the up coming final round of the Australasian Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park on 22nd& 23rd November. Aiden’s adventures all started with his Moto2 ride with MarcVDS team last month at the MotoGP Phillip Island round. His weekend got off to a good start in first practice posting a 1:35 around the fast circuit on an unfamiliar bike. Unfortunately with all the bike setup issues this meant that Aiden failed to improve on his practice time. Qualifying proved just as tough for the young Queenslander who could not improve on practice times. The race saw Aiden finish 26th and learn a great deal of experience that will only benefit him in the future. Racing in front of millions of viewers is hopefully the stepping-stone to see Aiden head overseas in 2015 to follow his dreams of becoming the next Australian to win a World Championship. “I felt confident that we could put on a good show at the island, but bike issues made it hard to improve all weekend” After a 6 wins from 6 races at ASC Wakefield Park the championship is very much alive for the last round with only 9 points separating Wagner and Morris. The Sunday Championship is even closer with the gap of just 1 point. Aiden is in excellent form after heading to Sydney to compete in the St George Club Round at Sydney Motorsport Park. Wagner showed the competition that he will be hard to beat this weekend. “I felt good all weekend at the St George Round and look forward to doing the same things we have been doing the last couple of rounds, which is to focus on winning races” “All I can do now is win the races and hopefully things will happen behind that enable a championship win” There is a lot up for grabs this weekend with the winner of the YMF Loan Championship taking home a new Yamaha R1. The last round of the Australasian Superbike Championship is on this weekend the 22nd & 23rd November at Sydney Motorsport Park.
