**Waldron Will - Fall Harvest Days** For those of you - TopicsExpress

**Waldron Will - Fall Harvest Days** For those of you interested in hearing about the base structure were planning as a back drop for the Fall Harvest Days this October, or if you have ideas or events that youd like to help plan, or things you can bring in and share with the community and the kids - things you can do and teach, please come and visit us between 8am and 1pm this Saturday, Aug 2nd at the High School during the Crayons and Cuts event. Wed like to see as many ideas and suggestions brought forward and we can all make decisions together on what we do. Heres what we can tell you so far - Waldron Will is working to produce a primary structure that can be left intact over the course of three weekends in October (17th/18th), (24th/25th), (31st/1st). We hope to provide and build a haunted house for the kids, a straw bale maze, hay rides to/from, along with lots of games. We do plan to focus on family and kids, and leave this base structure in place for those three weekends. Wed then like to identify and incorporate some primary events to take place within those three weekends, like setting a one room cabin in the Science Lab to be left behind for the students and incorporating activities that line up well with that. Many of you have suggested interactive project based demonstrations - like making apple butter or apple cider, candle dipping, corn husk dolls, broom making, and other similar activities. Another suggestion brought forth and an offer to manage - was a BBQ cook off, suggestions of a pie contest, home made ice-cream, etc... just lots of good stuff cooking everywhere - checker championships, three legged race, tug o war, and several other pioneer games could be structured pretty easily. Suggestions of a tractor show, some hit and miss engines, corn shelling and basic old iron machinery demonstrations are an option, things along those lines. Lastly, we expect at some point in October the pumpkin patch that many of you have worked on should have something worth harvesting and we can take the kids out to get a free pumpkin and help them carve and decorate it. Wed like to wrap everything up with a trunk or treat event All of this - with the base structure of the Haunted House, hay ride, and straw bale maze being left intact across the entire three weekends of events. So - what do you think about those things, are they in line with expectations? What else would you like to see, or what would you like to come in and do? Please jump into the discussion and let us know, wed like to hear from you either here in the comments section or come out to Crayons and Cuts this Saturday and let us know what youre thinking. Thanks for supporting Waldron Will - and making all of these things possible. Were 2745 members strong now, school is about to be back in session, I think weve made it through the summer - looking forward to all that is ahead of us!
