Walk a mile in my shoes, then you may judge me. Pretty certain most of you have heard this quote. Fox affiliate out of Phoenix Arizona did just that with vocal activist in their community. Just weeks prior Reverend Maupin lead marches in Phoenix to protest police and their actions. To his credit, he attended this training. He took a walk in a police officers shoes. Interesting points to observe: 1. Physiological Changes. Listen to how his breathing changes. His hands are shaking, his voice is quivering. Remember he is in a controlled setting...he will go home...yet still a complete change his normal physiological state. 2. Perception. He shot an unarmed man..His perception was he was being threatened...He was too close, I felt threatened. 3. Outcomes. He did what he felt necessary to HIM, in order to survive the encounter. Reverend Maupin states at the end, Key is citizens complying, following the directions of officers. Take a look: youtu.be/pAJXP0okzwk
